God is generous and so He calls us to be as well. What we do with what God has given us shows the world where our hearts are at and helps proclaim the gospel. We want to glorify God with every area of our lives, and that includes what we do with our finances.
The Lord has been so faithful and good to each of us. Psalm 68:19 says “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.”
Every day the Lord bestows upon us wonderful blessings.
John 3:16 states, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
He gave because He loved us and He believed we were worth the sacrifice of His life.
Our giving to the work of the Kingdom is an expression that we see there is something far greater than our temporal wants and we believe in what we are giving to.
Malachi 3:10 “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts,
if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”
In addition to our regular giving we should be mindful of honoring the Lord with our First Fruits. The “tenth” of our increase is a way that we show thanks to the Lord for His blessings to us.
Proverbs 3:9-10 “Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.”
God has given us a wonderful way to worship that many don’t think really think of as worship. That way is through our Tithe and Offering.
